Privacy

dithercn.dev is a documentation site. It has no accounts, no ads and no newsletter. It measures how the docs are used so we can tell which pages and components help, and nothing it collects is sold or used for advertising.

Analytics

The site uses PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics. PostHog records page views, time on page, clicks, page-load performance and a few named actions, such as copying an install command or the agent prompt, searching the docs, changing a preview's controls or switching the theme. It stores a random ID in a cookie and local storage so repeat visits count as one visitor, and it receives your IP address with each event, which it uses to estimate your country and city. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies.

Events go through dithercn.dev itself on their way to PostHog's US servers. The site doesn't record your screen or keystrokes, doesn't sell or share this data, and doesn't use it for advertising. Blocking cookies or analytics scripts in your browser stops all of it, and the docs work the same.

What's stored in your browser

Local storage remembers your theme, your preferred package manager for install commands, and a few docs display settings. A cookie named sidebar_state remembers whether the docs sidebar is open. These stay in your browser, aren't used for tracking and aren't shared with anyone. Clearing your site data removes them.

Hosting and server logs

Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and request details to serve pages and protect the site from abuse, under the Vercel privacy policy. The GitHub star count in the header is fetched by our server, so your browser doesn't contact GitHub until you follow the link.

When the shadcn CLI, the skills CLI or a coding agent downloads a registry item, the agent skill or llms.txt, the site records which file was fetched, the tool's user agent and the referring page, so we can count installs. That record has no IP address and no ID that links it to you or your other requests, and nothing about your project is sent.
